Taking the Key
Before We Begin

Before We Begin...

Before our consultation, I've created some things for you to think about before you buy your home.

Financing

Before we begin our house search, let's ensure you can finance your dream property. You can either finance out-of-pocket or get pre-approved by a lender. If you're still looking for options to finance, check out my vendor list, and see if you can find a method that works for you! If you are financing through a lender, it's crucial to get pre-approved so that we don't find the perfect home that you won't be able to finance. Also, play around with the numbers on this mortgage calculator by Bankrate to see what you'd be paying monthly. However you decide to finance your purchase, we need to establish your budget.

Location

Determine a general idea of where you would like to purchase. I would think about, not only the city, but the neighborhood that you would like to be in. Check in with your budget, and ensure the homes in that area match your financing budget. A great way to do this is to look on Zillow.com and check out the sold homes in that area. This way you can get a general idea of what you may pay. However, remember that your dream home may be outside your desired location.

Amenities

Now that we know where we want to live, let's think about what amenities we want from our property. Do you prefer a large kitchen, a deck, or a backyard space, or need an office space or flex room? Do you want one, two or three bedrooms? I understand that it can be extremely overwhelming to think about the things that you want in a home, so I've created a pdf for you to fill out to help you with your journey. You can print it out and work on it, or fill it out digitally. Feel free to bring it to our consultation, or send it to me in an email.

Agency

The last step is to secure agency representation. You can buy a home without a real estate agent. However, my job as an agent is to take the brunt of the work off of your shoulders. As an agent, I work to find you the best deals possible, the best costs, the best of everything. I can use my network of connections, and my expertise in the field to help you navigate the real estate waters. Plus, the seller pays my buyer services, so it's free for you! However, I understand that securing an agency is not ideal for some, so I've attached an article from Rocket Mortgage, to get you started on your research. Please do heavy research if you choose to move forward without an agent. However, if you are ready to begin your search with an agent, book your consultation with me down below!
